I tend to work on too many things at once. If I get tempted to focus on one project and write as much as I can on it in one day or over a series of consecutive days, I tend to get bogged down. It’s harder for me than writing even more words spread over multiple projects in a single day. I do not recommend this approach to professional writing if you care for your sanity, but it’s what I do.
I finished a few things recently. I’m reviewing final edits from the pro editor on Stone Wicked, my violent western tale. I’ve completed my first draft on book two of the Old Southern Gods series with Raven Tale Publishing and I’m doing my self-edits before turning it over to them. The editing process is always an adventure with them.
Just as quickly, I add new things in. I’m still slowly working through a number of other items in progress. I’ll start book 3 of Old Southern Gods shortly. I’m looking at projects for next year including a series of splatterpunk mash-ups with a sub genre that couldn’t be further from extreme horror. The mock-up cover for the first of those books is on my patreon page.
I like writing. I like finishing what I write. I like perfecting it after it is drafted. I like publishing it for readers to enjoy. And I like moving on to new and exciting things to keep it going. Hopefully, you’ll buy these things as they come out and continue to fund my writing habit.
